Mr.Syed Shahab Qutub
Shahab is an Advocate of the Supreme Court of Pakistan who specializes in commercial litigation and international commercial as well as investment treaty arbitrations. During the course of his practice Shahab has been a prolific dispute resolution lawyer conducting commercial litigation for a wide range of clients in industries as diverse as banking, textile, pharmaceutical, oil & gas, cement, fertilizer, construction and power.
Shahab regularly advises and represents corporate clients in shareholder disputes, corporate control disputes, lending disputes as well as disputes related to cross-border sales, documentary credit and insurance transactions. He also represents clients in regulatory proceedings related to anti-trust, corporate and securities laws. In addition, Shahab has advised public sector organizations, regulatory bodies and trade organizations in disputes and other non-contentious matters.
Shahab has been engaged with several high profile domestic and international arbitrations and expert determinations in the textile, fertilizer and power sectors. He has advised both public and private sector clients in ICC, LCIA, DIFC and ICSID arbitrations appearing regularly before domestic and international arbitral tribunals and experts.
With 20 years of experience in dispute resolution, Shahab regularly appears as counsel before the High Courts, trial courts and administrative tribunals in Pakistan while also representing clients before the National Electric Power Regulatory Authority, the Competition Commission of Pakistan, the Securities & Exchange Commission of Pakistan and the National Tariff Commission.
