Karmat Nazir Bhandari is the retired Judge of the Supreme Court of Pakistan and is now a member of visiting faculty of PCL.

His main areas of teaching revolve around jurisprudential issues in Constitutional Law and Civil Procedure. He conducts regular visits to the College to teach final year students of LL.B. His contribution and teaching is highly appreciated by the student body.

Honorable Mr. Justice (Rtd.) Nasim Sabir Chaudhry

Barrister Nasim Sabir Chaudhry is a former judge of the Lahore High Court. He completed his post-graduation from the University of Punjab and went on to be called to the Bar from the Honorable Society of Lincoln�s Inn.

Barrister Sabir has several years of legal practice to his credit in which he has developed expertise in areas of civil, criminal and constitutional matters. In the area of teaching, Mr. Sabir conducted Diploma classes in the Department of International Affairs at the University of Punjab. He has been teaching in PCL since its inception and at present he is a visiting Professor of Law. His areas of instruction are Company Law and Conveyancing and Pleadings.

Mr. Muhammad Afzal Khan

Mr. Muhammad Afzal is a graduate of the University of Punjab, where he obtained distinction in the University examinations. He is an Advocate of the Supreme Court of Pakistan and is a senior partner in the law firm of Afzal & Associates, Lahore.

Since qualifying as a lawyer, Mr. Afzal has been working as an Associate with such reputable firms as Meer Law Associates along with such senior lawyers as Barrister Maqbool Elahi Malik and Syed Asghar Haider presently, judge of Lahore High Court. At present Mr. Afzal is a visiting Lecturer for Civil Procedure Code at Pakistan College of Law. His specialist areas include, Islamic Jurisprudence, Procedure and Equity. Mr. Muhammad Afzal also has the honor of being the first recruit of Teaching Assistant Programme initiated by Prof. Humayoun Ihsan in PCL.

PCL is very proud of having Mr. Afzal as a Lecturer at the College as the depth and conceptual clarity he will provide to PCL students is a rare quality. His legal experience is also something which will prove to be immensely useful to the students pursuing law as a future career.

Mr. Usman Arif

Mr. Usman Arif

Usman Arif is a Senior Partner of the firm, Arif n’ Arif , a law firm, named after his father who has served as a Judge of Supreme Court of Pakistan. Following his graduation from Government College Lahore, he enrolled in Pakistan College of Law to pursue a bachelor's degree in law before earning a master's degree in law from George Washington University in the United States. In addition to practising law, he also has the honour of teaching law at several Universities in Lahore and he currently is part of the visiting faculty of Pakistan College of Law. He entered the legal profession in 2000–2001 and he deal with cases relating to Labour, Services, Civil, Criminal, Banking, and Constitutional Law.

As a partner of the firm he handles administrative issues as well as professional responsibilities. He has played an important role in building clientele and for development of the firm. During his time at CLM (April-December 2001), Mr. Usman, Assisted partners in research and preparing cases, drafted memoranda on corporate issues and advised and represented different national/multinational Banks and handled lending and recovery operations. Mr. Usman was also appointed as Deputy Attorney General for Pakistan from 2018 to 2022, and he was given the responsibility of representing the Government of Pakistan in the Supreme Court's Lahore Registry. As the DAG, he was also given the specific responsibility of handling Military Estate Cases in Lahore High Court and Supreme Court of Pakistan.

During 2004-2009, Mr. Usman was appointed as the legal advisor for Data Ganjh Baksh Town. Currently he is representing Dubai Islamic Bank (DIB), Askari Commercial Bank, Zarai Tariaqiati Bank Ltd. (ZTBL), SME Bank Ltd, Haji Karim Bakhsh Ltd. (HKB) , Civil Aviation Authority (CAA), Shell Pakistan Ltd. Pakistan Atomic Energy Commission (PAEC), Auqaf Department, Govt. of Punjab, Silk Bank and he is recently appointed as Senior Legal Advisor for Lahore Development Authority (LDA) in Supreme Court. Moreover, he has researched on issues involving Banking Laws, Election Laws, Constitution, Labor Laws, Marriages, Landlord Tenant Relationship, Shariah Laws, Criminal Laws and Civil Laws.

Ms. Aamnah Akhtar is a graduate of Lahore College for Women and obtained her legal education from the Pakistan College of Law with distinction. She excelled during her academic period and her abilities were acknowledged by the College through being awarded several positions as teaching assistant. She is presently a lecturer in PCL and specializes in Constitutional Law and Law of Evidence. Her effective approach towards delivering an understanding of difficult legal concepts to under-graduate law students encourages them to grasp the conceptual aspects and then delve into the practical side of law. Along with her teaching assignments Ms. Akhtar is also involved in conducting of the study circle as well as seminars and workshops. Such endeavors on her part have contributed immeasurably towards providing students with greater exposure to issues beyond their usual study.

Dr. Zia Ullah Ranjha

Dr. Zia Ullah Ranjha

Mr. Ranjah is Advocate Supreme Court of Pakistan. He holds a doctorate in law. Before joining Jurist Panel, he worked with RIAA Barker Gillette, a leading international law firm for many years. He has appeared in hundreds of cases before the superior courts of Pakistan.

Mr. Ranjah has been a consultant in law reforms project conducted in collaboration with the Asian Development Bank. He has delivered lectures on law at National Defense University, Foreign Service Academy, National Police Academy, International Islamic University (Islamabad) and Civil Services Academy, Punjab Judicial Academy, and Punjab University Law College (Lahore). He has contributed in seminars at SOAS, University of London, University of Oxford and University of Cambridge. He has attended The Hague Academy courses of international law. He has published legal opinions and articles in national and international law journals and influential newspapers. He is a member of the Committee of Editors of the Asian Yearbook of Human Rights and Humanitarian Law-Brill.

Saba Kareemi served as a Senior Lecturer in Commercial Law at Westminster International University in Tashkent. She has been an Assistant Professor at the School of Law and Policy, University of Management and Technology, Lahore, Pakistan. She has degrees from the University of Toronto Law School and the Faculty of Shariah and Law at International Islamic University, Islamabad. She also studied Advanced Arabic for a year at Qatar University on a scholarship. She has presented her research on the intersection of corporate law, international law, and Islamic law at Durham, Nottingham, Chester, University Pompeu Fabra Barcelona, and at the prestigious Institute for Global Law and Policy Conference at Harvard Law School. She is co-editing "The Handbook of Islam and Environmental Law", which will be published by Cambridge University Press in 2023.

S. Ali Raza Shah

Syed Ali Raza is a lawyer and rule of law expert based in Pakistan. He is a Draper Hills Fellow from the Stanford University, USA; Legislative Fellow of the US State Department; and an LL.M. Graduate in International and Comparative Laws from the National University of Singapore. He also attended the prestigious Bucerius Summer School of Law & Global Governance in Hamburg, Germany and completed Leadership Academy for Development Program at the University of Sarajevo, Bosnia. He is also a Certified Independent Director of Pakistan Institute of Corporate Governance after completing training from Lahore University of Management and Sciences. He has also attended the prestigious National Security Workshop from National Defence University of Pakistan. Ali is a Managing Partner at Common Law Chambers, a complete service firm that provides legal, transactional and policy solutions under one roof to clients from both public and private sector. He frequently ensures representation before higher judicial forums and has been part of several important cases of the country. He drafted several legal reports, authored specialized opinions and rendered expert opinions on human rights and civil matters individually and in collaboration with global consulting companies. Ali has also briefly held a cabinet portfolio in Punjab and been a Member and Legal Advisor at Public Affairs Unit of Chief Minister’s Office of Punjab in the largest province of Pakistan. He provided strategic legal and policy support to top political leadership, ministers, rank government officials; and to various institutional reforms taskforces, working groups and committees etc. in wide range of areas including criminal justice system, heritage conservation, urban planning, youth & sports and environment. Ali played a significant role in finalizing key legislations that focused on conservation of heritage sites; labour laws; accountability; youth and sports development; wildlife; and preparation of commercialization policy for the mega city of Lahore.

He has been the youngest member of a statutory board that engaged youth through sports and has been serving as an elected director on the Board of one of the oldest and leading listed companies of Pakistan. He has thorough knowledge of Sugar and Distillery Sectors as well. Earlier, as a Legislative Fellow of the US State Department, Ali worked for the Office of 1st Ward Alderman in Chicago and assisted in contextualizing legislation regarding regulation of plastic bags and submitted opinion on Chicago Infrastructure Trust Plan. Moreover, in recognition of his successful legal reforms work in the Punjab Solicitor’s Department, UN selected him to represent Pakistan in Young Leaders in Governance Program at Bangkok, Thailand. As a young lawyer and human rights activist, Ali received an award from the Punjab Bar Council in 2008. He also represented Pakistan at the WISCOMP Conflict Transformation Forum in New Delhi, India.

In 2009, he worked as a forum assistant for the Supreme Court of Singapore’s Asia Pacific Judicial Reforms Conference. He was a Member and Youth Law Minister in the first ever Youth Parliament of Pakistan, an initiative of PILDAT. Ali contribute to legal and public policy debate in Pakistan and Asia through various articles that appear in newspapers and international law journals. His paper on Religious Penal Clauses in Pakistan was presented at National University of Singapore which got published by Hart & Bloomberg in book titled “Religious Offences in Common Law Asia.”

Shahab is an Advocate of the Supreme Court of Pakistan who specializes in commercial litigation and international commercial as well as investment treaty arbitrations. During the course of his practice Shahab has been a prolific dispute resolution lawyer conducting commercial litigation for a wide range of clients in industries as diverse as banking, textile, pharmaceutical, oil & gas, cement, fertilizer, construction and power.

Shahab regularly advises and represents corporate clients in shareholder disputes, corporate control disputes, lending disputes as well as disputes related to cross-border sales, documentary credit and insurance transactions. He also represents clients in regulatory proceedings related to anti-trust, corporate and securities laws. In addition, Shahab has advised public sector organizations, regulatory bodies and trade organizations in disputes and other non-contentious matters.

He is also pursuing an LL.M from the University of London specializing in Commercial & Corporate law. In the past he has been awarded multiple distinctions by the University with his exam scrpts being selected as sample answers to be published in the University of London’s Virtual Learning Environment for the guidance of future students. During his time as an LL. B student, he was awarded "Best Advocate" at the 12th Henry Dunant Moot Court Competition, and his team was awarded champions of the 2020 Philip C. Jessup Moot Court Competition by a panel of sitting High Court and Supreme Court Justices.

Nida Usman Chaudhary is an award winning, diversity and inclusion advocate and founder of women in law initiative Pakistan. She holds LL.B (Hons) and LL.M in Law and Development from the University of London. She has over 15 years of experience in research, training and capacity building and has provided legislative and policy input on several key women and child rights laws including guidelines under anti rape ordinance 2020, amendments to workplace harassment bill 2021 and on proposed amendments for maternity leave and benefits, child protection and child marriage restraint laws. Her areas of focus include amongst others, gender based violence, fair representation, and child rights. She was amongst the list of 100 women from global south featured in Femilist 100 by Gender Security Project in 2021 and has won the international Justitia Awards 2021 in category academia International in Vienna. Previously, she also won Sewegap Emerging Women Leader award in 2018. In 2023 she was awarded global women Top50 award in Sri Lanka for her work on women's rights activism and was awarded the ‘Certificate of Recognition’ by the Governor of Punjab, for her contributions to fair representation in justice sector and law and policy inputs for women and child rights legislation at the 75th independence day celebrations at the Governor House, Punjab. Nida has been teaching Company law at Pakistan College of Law for over 6 years. Her students have achieved excellent results in their University of London Examinations.

Mr. Zeeshaan Zafar Hashmi is a founding partner at the law firm of Shujra, Farooq & Hashmi with over a decade’s experience of practising law in Pakistan. He has clerked for the Honourable Chief Justice of Pakistan and worked with some of the leading law firms of the country before founding his own law firm.

Mr. Hashmi is the Lecturer on Jurisprudence & Legal Theory for LL.B. (Hons.) at PCL since 2017 and has also taught LL.B. (Hons.) Criminal Law and LL.M. International Commercial Arbitration on the University of London International Programme at PCL, in addition to teaching MBA Business Law at Government College University, Lahore. Mr. Hashmi’s articles are published in the Pakistan Law Review as well as international law journals. His work on unconstitutional constitutional amendments is cited in journals and books published by the Universities of Oxford. London, and Georgetown.

Mr. Hashmi holds an LL.M. from Harvard Law School where he was awarded the Islamic Legal Studies Writing Prize and was an Editor of the Harvard International Law Journal. Prior to attending Harvard, Mr. Hashmi graduated from the LL.B. (Hons.) University of London International Programme at Pakistan College of Law. During his time as a student at PCL, Mr. Hashmi brought many mooting accolades to the College, including representing the College and Pakistan for the first time in the Hong Kong IHL Moot and the ICRC Regional Henry Dunant Moot, where he won the “Best Advocate in South Asia” award. Mr. Hashmi took his expertise forward and taught the first ever formal moot court training courses in Pakistan at PCL in 2012.

Mr. Qasim Aziz (PCL/University of London International Programme) graduated in 2010.

He is career diplomat with nine years’ experience of working at various positions in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs including diplomatic assignment at the Permanent Mission of Pakistan to United Nations, New York, Deputy Director (Counter-Terrorism Division) and Assistant Director (Human Rights and Humanitarian Affairs). He currently heads the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Liasion Office in Lahore.

Huriya Fatima is an Advocate High Court with five years standing as an advocate. She completed her LLM in 2021 and LLB (Hons) in 2018. She is currently practicing as a lawyer in Lahore and is also teaching at Pakistan College of Law.

Mr Nauman Khan

Nauman is currently working in Axis Law Chambers. Nauman is a tax law specialist with accounting and auditing experience under his belt. He has completed his articleship from Baker Tilly Mehmood Idrees Qamar (Lahore) where he gained considerable experience in the audit department and performed statutory audits of entities operating in the medical, textile, services and engineering sectors. Nauman also routinely advises clients on business entity incorporation and compliance matters. He graduated from Pakistan College of Law (PCL) (University of London International Programme) in 2020 with an LL. B (Hons.) degree and is an Advocate of the Lower Courts. Nauman has also published research papers in local law reviews.
